Stay Focused

“…Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!””
Acts 3

Peter told the lame beggar, “Look at us”.
The man obviously saw them, but when Peter said, “Look at us”, he was forced to focus.

Peter wanted him to stop looking at his limitations and stop looking for handouts. He wanted him to focus on the bigger picture. As the beggar was now focused and paying attention to the Apostles he would see the power of faith in God.

As Peter told him, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk” (v. 6). Then Peter “helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk” and give praise (vv. 7–8).

So, What happened? The man had faith in God (v. 16).

When you focus on God and what he can do, you won’t see obstacles or limitations. You will see God, the one who provides what you need to rise above your trials and tribulations.

Today’s Prayer…
Dear Lord,
Thank you for ears to hear you, a mouth to praise you, hands and feet to serve you. Thank you most of all for giving me eyes so that I can see that my troubles are nothing compared to the blessings and grace that you give me daily.

In your holy name I pray,
Amen.
